St. Louis Int’l Film Festival screening Iranian films

The 28th Annual Whitaker St. Louis Int’l Film Festival is screening Iranian films.

The 28th Annual Whitaker St. Louis International Film Festival (SLIFF) in the US has been screening Four Iranian films.

‘The Spinning Top’ and ‘Starvation’ are on the screen at the Narrative Shorts: International Animation category, ‘Greyish’ is screening at the Narrative Shorts: International Comedy category and ‘Tattoo’ is hitting screen at the Narrative Shorts: International Drama category.

Made by Shiva Momtahen, ‘The Spinning Top’ follows a child who had a flashback to his memories while searching for his spinning top.

Directed by Zahra Rostampour, ‘Starvation’ offers a different point of view of a wolf as a villain in fairytale stories. The hungry wolf gets stuck in stereotypes about being the big bad wolf of the story. She has to flee when everybody accuses her of violence and murder. She faces the danger of getting killed.

Made by Eqbal Shirazi-Sani, ‘Greyish’ is about a woolen old man and his stages of life as a metaphor for everyone’s lives.

Directed by Farhad Delaram, ‘Tattoo’ narrates the story of a young girl who has to extend her driving license; but she faces some problems because of her tattoos.

The SLIFF is an annual film festival in St. Louis, Missouri, which has been running since 1992. The coordinating organization changed its name to ‘Cinema St. Louis’ in 2003. The festival screens approximately 300 films over a period of 10 days during November.

The 28th SLIFF has been slated for November 7-17, 2019.
